Traditional ‘Pinto Thao’ food carriers to replace single-use containers in all Thai national parks

The minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, Weerasak Kowsurat, announced that government officers on duty in all national parks are now prohibited from using single-use food containers. Instead, the government has provided them with traditional layered lunch boxes commonly known as ‘Pinto Thao’. The national parks will also encourage visitors to bring their own lunch boxes or rent one at park entrances. The change will affect all of Thailand’s 154 national parks and seven zoos.
