Gibraltar: NGO, water company and restaurateur launches refillable bottle scheme #Refill

Gibraltar water company AquaGib, environmental NGO The Nautilus Project and restaurant chain The Hunter Group have come together to launch #Refill, a collaboration aimed at reducing single-use plastics on the island.

On March 15th, 2018, as their first order of business, #refill distributed 1,000 aluminum refillable water bottles to members of the public.

The Gibraltar collaboration was inspired by (but not associated with) free tap water scheme Refill, a UK initiative encouraging businesses to offer free tap water and refills on their premises, with the reduction of single-use plastics central to their mission. More at Gibraltar Chronicle.
