Germany to enforce new single-use packaging regulations in 2019

The German government will be enforcing new single-use packaging laws, collectively named VerpackG. These laws aim to achieve greater transparency in the packaging materials brought into the German market. Packaging manufacturers from both local and exporting countries will be obliged to register in a Central Register of Packers. Most of its regulations will take effect on the 1st of January 2019, replacing current regulations.
