Czech startup 'Miwa' aims to remove single-use packaging with a capsule solution

Prague-based start-up Miwa has developed a business solution to tackle single-use plastic packaging. Miwa’s capsules purportedly tackle the problem by eliminating packaging at the source. Suppliers who adopt the system can deliver goods, packed into Miwa's reusable capsules, to stores which could be directly plugged into smart modular dispensers in shops. Customers can use an app to select what and how much of a product they want to purchase, which then could be delivered or be picked up by customers. The company’s new solution won the News Plastic Economy Innovation Prize in 2017, awarded by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
