As part of its initiative to eliminate the use of paper and plastics within the city, Berkeley is launching a pilot programme to loan reusable coffee cups at several cafes in the city.

The reusable cups are made by Vessel, a company based in Colorado that is disrupting the disposables industry. It makes stainless steel cups that consumers can loan for free, and then return to any Vessel kiosk within 5 days.
