Corona announces new eco-friendly packaging design 'Fit Packs'

Beer company Corona has introduced a new eco-friendly packaging design that eliminates plastic six-pack rings: stackable, interlocking cans, called ‘Fit Packs’.

The cans have been redesigned so that they can be stacked on top of each other, as the bottom of each beer can screws onto the top of another. Consumers can stack the beer cans up to 10 cans high.

The new interlocking feature is part of Corona’s initiative to use plastic-free packaging. The new design was created in collaboration with Leo Burnett advertising agency, which earned the Innovation Lion Award at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2019. Corona is also open-sourcing their can design so that other beverage companies can use it as well.
