Water refill stations have been installed at Clerkenwell Green and Islington Green to encourage people to refill their bottles instead of using single-use plastic bottles.

This initiative is part of a partnership with the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and #OneLess, a movement that strives to ‘reduce the amount of single-use plastic water bottles entering the ocean from the city of London.’

Bram Kainth, Service Director at Islington Council, stated that “these new drinking fountains help to cut plastic waste, and offer residents, workers and visitors a free water refill while they are out and about. The fountains are part of our commitment to take action to cut plastic waste.”

Mayor Sadiq Khan has pledged to install 100 water refill stations in London by the end of 2020.
