New World, a New Zealand based grocery store chain, aims to reduce single-use plastics with a new ‘Food in the Nude’ project, displaying fruits and vegetables without any plastic packaging. After the concept was introduced at a New World grocery store in Christchurch, the program expanded to nine more stores and is part of a larger sustainability effort from parent company Foodstuffs.
