Australian Senator Peter Whish-Wilson aims to ban single-use plastics by 2025

The Greens Senator for Tasmania, Peter Whish-Wilson, announced a draft bill to ban single-use plastics by 2025 at a recent Launceston Clean Up Australia Day event. Other targets of the 2019 Product Stewardship Amendment Bill include banning microbeads and lightweight plastic bags and introducing a container deposit scheme by 2021.
