San Diego’s ban on single-use plastics takes effect

The city of San Diego has recently began the first phase of its single-use plastics ban within city limits. During the first phase that went into effect in March 2018, the city’s food vendors will no longer be allowed to provide plastic utensils or straws. The next phase of the ban, where food service-ware, and trays made from styrofoam will no longer be allowed to be sold or distributed, is scheduled to take effect on 24th May 2019.
