Lidl Ireland to stop selling single-use plastics by 2019
Lidl Ireland will no longer sell single-use plastics in their stores starting 2019. The supermarket chain will discontinue single-use plastic bags as well as plastic drinking straws, disposable cups and glasses, plates, cutlery and plastic stemmed cotton buds. This announcement comes on the heels of getting rid of hard-to-recycle black plastic bags and a ban on micro-beads in cosmetic and household products from their UK stores in September 2018.
