Ever’man Grocery & Café in Pensacola, Florida, US, doing away with plastic bags

The non-profit Ever'man Cooperative Grocery & Cafe in downtown Pensacola, Florida, US, announced that it has eliminated single-use plastic bags from its operation. The customers can now bring their own bags, buy or borrow reusable bags made primarily from recycled plastic bottles, canvas or jute. The co-op has been slowly eliminating plastic bags from their cashiers since 2015 and estimates that the initiative has already prevented 40,000 single-use bags from entering the community’s waste stream.
