The Indian State of Bihar to implement a plastic bag ban

The Indian State of Bihar has decided to follow suit of a few other states that have banned single-use plastic bags. The ban will come to effect on the 25th of October for the metropolitan areas and state-wide on the 25th of November. Fines for the infringement of the ban could incur penalties of 5,000 INR (approx. 68 USD) to 100,000 INR (approx. 1350 USD) and/or jail time.
