Tewksbury town in Massachusetts, US, ban plastic bags
In a Special Town Meeting held on 2nd October 2018, the town council of Tewksburry, Massachusetts, US, has approved a bill that will ban plastic bags. The ban will be enforced by a town manager and/or an appointed agent by the manager. The bill has also imposed a penalty system with a first offence resulting in a written warning, a second offence incurring a 100 USD fine and additional violations resulting in 200 USD fines. The ban is set to go in to force on the 1st of April 2019.
