Zero-waste store run by volunteers to open in Bude, UK
Five local women in Bude, a town in north Cornwall, are preparing to open a zero waste store. They plan to run the store as a social enterprise with all their profits being reinvested into local sustainability initiatives such as A Greener Bude who are focused on ridding the town of single-use plastics and increasing water refilling stations. The founders expect that customers will bring their own containers in the long run, but have decided to initially sell glass storage jars as well as draw-string cloth bags and paper bags.
