Canadian Start-up offers replacement products for single-use plastics made from bamboo

The start-up based in Kelowna, Canada, Bella Bamboo, is hoping to capitalise on the move away from plastics and provide sustainable alternatives made from bamboo. The company utilise bamboo as a replacement material for plastics to create items such as cups, containers and bags. The CEO of the company noted that although the products would not be as long-lasting as plastics, they would be completely biodegradable and recycle-ready. He further remarked that the product stream could also have many other interesting areas the company would like to explore, such as renewable energy production from bamboo offcuts.
