Burger King Singapore will no longer hand out single-use straws and cup lids
Burger King Singapore announced that it will no longer hand out plastic straws and lids by default. The Singapore arm of the fast-food chain reported that the operations in the country use a total of 14.7 metric tons of single-use lids and straws annually. The change, rolled out on the 15th of October 2018, came into effect in all its 42 outlets in the country. The chain reported that they would still provide these items on request, being able to address customers with medical needs.
