Over 250 global companies pledge to eliminate plastic waste
Up from 40 companies in April 2018, approximately 250 large organisations have now pledged to eradicate plastic waste by 2025, including Coca-Cola, H&M and L'Oreal. The Initiative New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, launched by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, has seen increased corporate commitment. The commitments include eliminating "problematic or unnecessary" plastic packaging, ensuring that packaging can be "easily and safely" recycled or composted, and increasing the amounts of plastics reused or recycled into new packaging or products.
