Icelandic supermarket chains Bónus and Hagkaup to eliminate plastic bags

Two of the largest supermarket chains in Iceland, Bónus and Hagkaup, have announced that they will phase out single-use plastic bags in each of their supermarkets. The low-cost supermarket Bónus announced that they would no longer provide single-use plastic bags starting on 27th October 2018, while Hagkaup followed with an announcement to phase out plastic bags in the coming months.
