US town of Mansfield bans plastic bags

The Massachusetts town of Mansfield has imposed a ban on plastic bags that will come into effect on the 1st November 2018. The effect of this legislation will only affect large businesses that are 500 square feet or larger and chain stores with more than one location in Mansfield. The total ban for all residences and organisations will come into effect on the 15th May 2018.  This ordinance also bans single-use paper bags that are not 100% recyclable. Dry cleaning companies that use plastic are exempt as long as they provide a box to where the plastic can be returned.
