UK’s Skipping Rocks Lab developing an edible seaweed coffee cup

Following their successful edible water bottle made from brown seaweed, Ooho, the London-based sustainable packaging start-up, Skipping Rocks Lab, has announced that they are currently developing a seaweed coffee cup liner that can decompose in soil in about four to six weeks. With this product the company aims to tackle the current biodegradable cups that use starch-based polylactic acid and require a long time to degrade.
