The Australian city of Bunbury to ban single-use plastics by June 2019
The Bunbury City Council has announced a 15-point action plan to phase out unnecessary single-use plastics from the city. The plan had been developed in response to a petition asking for plastic straws and single-use plastics to be banned from events organised or sponsored by the City of Bunbury. Initiatives in the plans include banning balloons from events and marketing, and partnerships with local cafés, providing them with KeepCups, who will in turn provide discounts to customers who bring their own cups.
