Japanese Government sets targets on reducing single-use plastic waste

The Ministry of the Environment of Japan has set targets on reducing single-use plastics, aiming for a 25% reduction by 2030. The plan specifies ways to cut down on single-use plastics such as introducing 2 million tons of animal and plant-derived biomass plastic per year by 2030, and mandating retailers to charge for plastic grocery bags.
