Town of Wilton’s zero-waste school initiative attracts regional support in the state of Connecticut
50 representatives from 12 Connecticut towns along with members from Mamaroneck, New York, came together on the 17th October 2018 to join the Zero Waste Schools Coalition initiated by the Wilton Go Green organisation which promotes sustainability in the town of Wilton. The initiative of going zero-waste which had started in Wilton schools has become a great success with various programmes instilling habits to reduce single-use plastic waste.
The coalition will act as a platform for schools in Connecticut and beyond, to connect, learn and share innovations and initiatives to become zero-waste and single-use plastics free.
