The Parish of St Helier in Jersey, UK, to be plastic-free by 2019

The Parish of St Helier in the island of Jersey announced that they should reach the target of being plastic-free by the end of October 2018. As part of the efforts by The Plastic-Free Jersey campaign, the parish has been phasing out various single-use plastic items form its jurisdiction in the last year. St Helier Town Hall reports that any event held in the parish from 2019 onwards will be required to not use single-use plastics and will have to invest in alternative options such as eco-cups instead.
