UCLA takeout restaurants promote bring your own initiatives
UCLA Dining Services launched an initiative this quarter to encourage students to bring their own bottles. The restaurants and cafés on the University hill aim to remove the plastic waste generated by the campuses and have already started giving out free reusable bottles to students who require them. The UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services noted that the University takeout restaurants use around 7,000 cups a day, most of which end up in landfills.
