The University of Portsmouth in the UK to scrap single-use plastics from its campus
In a partnership with conservation organisations The Final Straw Solent and The News, the University of Portsmouth has announced that the campus will abandon the use of single-use plastics throughout the campus. The university has already banned plastic straws, cutlery and bottles, and has put pressure on other university partners such as catering suppliers to abandon unnecessary plastic packaging. Furthermore, the university has has implemented incentives for buying reusable coffee cups around the campus.
