Ryder Cup Europe intensifies its drive towards being plastic-free

The Ryder Cup Green Drive, established in 1997 to propel the biennial golf competition to be more sustainable ,has taken proactive steps to reduce its single-use plastic usage in the most recent competition that ended on 30th September 2018. The initiative was one of the major sporting events to join the French Government Charter for Eco-Responsible Events in 2017, and since has been working with partners, suppliers and contractors to achieve their goals. In a partnership with BMW, this season the organisers have setup provisions for water refilling, and minimised paper and plastic usage at food, beverage and branding.
