Kenya's Environmental Authority raiding markets
Kenya's National Environmental Management Authority, NEMA, has warned that it will apply the full force of the law on persons found to be flouting the country's plastic bags ban which went into effect in October 2017.
The Authority conducted a surprise raid on two major markets in the city, arresting several people that were found in possession of the banned bags.
Though the government made it clear last year that the use and manufacture of plastic bags had been banned, NEMA says some quarters have refused to obey the law. More at KBC.
