Seattle to go strawless by end of June of this year

The city of Seattle is set to enact a ban on plastic straws and utensils, requiring all businesses that sell food or drinks to offer compostable or recyclable options — or ask patrons to forgo the tools altogether/bring their own (preferably reusable ones)  — come June 30 of this year. The ban aside, about 200 retailers already agreed to make the switch in September 2017 as part of an industry-led campaign, dubbed “Strawless in Seattle. More at the Seattle Times.
